Introducing- The Stand-Up Apocalypse
Imagine - an opening comedian is 3 minutes into her stand-up set when, through the audience, and onto the stage - a man in a gorilla suit chases someone in a banana costume. Philly Elmo enters on the drums. A group of elderly Asian women start synchronized line dancing.
They still have to finish their punchline.
This is Stand-Up Apocalypse - a curated chaos comedy show where Philadelphia’s boldest comedians try to get through their sets while madness unfolds around them.
How It Works:
Before the show, each comic is secretly assigned a chaos level: None, Light, Medium, Full-Hell
* 5-6 seasoned comedians each perform 10 minute sets.
* They’re told in advance: “Anything might happen. Don’t stop.”
* A rotating crew of chaos agents facilitate unpredictable disruptions throughout the show.
* The chaos is planned in advance, but spontaneous to the audience and comics.
* The chaos is choreographed and timed for laughs - never dangerous, always absurd.
* Audience members may be pulled into scenes but always with consent and in good fun.
