The City Wide Sessions Returns! Hosted by Dan Kalowitz
Are you up to Jam with the best of Philly?
The last City Wide Sessions jam at Heritage Jazz in 2023 brought together a real mix of players—familiar faces, new voices, and the kind of easy collaboration that only happens when the room feels right. It’s the kind of night people still bring up.
Now, City Wide Sessions is returning—this time at Velvet Whip, with the possibility of becoming a monthly hang.
The idea is simple: create a consistent space where musicians across Philly can show up, sit in, experiment, and connect. A room that welcomes both seasoned players and newer artists, without pressure—just good energy and openness. It also creates a real opportunity for younger musicians to learn firsthand—playing alongside a high-quality house band, picking up the unspoken language of live performance in real time.
Nothing forced—just a good room, good people, and the music building from there.

***All refund requests will be granted up to 24 hrs before the event. If you want to switch to the other show in a night or use your tickets for a different date, message the organizer in advance to make that change for no additional cost.***
The safety and comfort of our performers and guests is our top priority. Please do not approach comics or contact them online with sexual language or a suggestive tone. The best compliment you can say is: "You were so funny." If you're 'excited' to see comedians naked, that's okay! Just keep that thought to yourself in your head where it doesn't hurt anyone. You don't want to hurt someone, right? And if you're excited to see a naked comedy show, hey, this note isn't even for you. You're going to have such a fun night!

HOT FIX SIDE SHOW-TRAVELING TO PHILLY!
HOT FIX IS COMING
FOR YOU
Straight from New York’s underground sideshow scene, Hot Fix Sideshow storms into Philadelphia for one night only at Velvet Whip Philadelphia on Saturday, August 22 at 8:30PM. Featuring a rotating cast of daring performers including Cyclone Jack Sullivan, Kita St. Cyr, Maggie McMuffin, The Trickster Bruises, and Queensiñera, Hot Fix has built a reputation for blending classic sideshow spectacle with modern theatrical chaos — from fire performance and sword swallowing to dark cabaret energy and punk-circus mayhem.
As part of their 2026 touring run, the troupe is traveling from New York specifically to bring their wild, immersive brand of sideshow to the Velvet Whip stage for a late-night Philly takeover. Expect danger, glamour, absurdity, audience interaction, and the kind of underground performance art you don’t stumble across twice. If you’ve been waiting for a night that feels equal parts carnival fever dream, downtown cabaret, and outlaw theater — this is it.
About
Cyclone Jack Sullivan
Cyclone Jack Sullivan is a New York-based sideshow and variety performer known for blending classic carnival danger acts with sharp comedic timing and punk-cabaret energy. A staple of the underground neo-vaudeville scene, Jack’s performances move between fire manipulation, stunt work, audience interaction, and theatrical absurdity — channeling the spirit of vintage traveling sideshows through a contemporary downtown lens. His stage presence balances danger with humor, creating performances that are both chaotic and strangely elegant.
Kita St. Cyr
Kita St. Cyr is a multidisciplinary burlesque and sideshow artist celebrated for her seductive stagecraft, theatrical storytelling, and dark glamour aesthetic. Drawing influence from underground cabaret, vintage burlesque, and surreal performance art, her acts often blur seduction with spectacle — creating immersive moments that feel intimate, dangerous, and dreamlike all at once. Kita brings a cinematic quality to the Hot Fix stage, combining elegance with raw underground energy.
Maggie McMuffin
Maggie McMuffin is an internationally recognized burlesque and variety performer known for her playful theatricality, bold visual style, and genre-bending performances. Her work combines humor, classic tease, cabaret spectacle, and avant-garde performance traditions into acts that are simultaneously polished and delightfully unpredictable. As part of Hot Fix, Maggie contributes a sharp sense of wit and glamorous chaos that anchors the troupe’s modern sideshow identity.
The Trickster Bruises
The Trickster Bruises is known for visceral physical performance, dark humor, and immersive audience engagement rooted in circus arts and experimental theater. Combining stunt work, body-based spectacle, and unpredictable improvisation, their performances often push audiences into uncomfortable, hilarious, and exhilarating territory simultaneously. Their work embodies the raw, underground ethos at the center of Hot Fix’s artistic identity.
Queensiñera
Queensiñera is a genre-defying drag and performance artist whose work fuses nightlife spectacle, political satire, queer performance traditions, and avant-garde cabaret. Known for commanding stage presence, extravagant visuals, and immersive crowd interaction, Queensiñera transforms each performance into a surreal theatrical event. Their contribution to Hot Fix adds a layer of radical glamour, irreverence, and contemporary underground performance culture to the troupe’s explosive live shows.

DREW NUGENT & THE MIDNIGHT SOCIETY LIVE AT THE VELVET WHIP
Drew Nugent & The Midnight Society
a crew of sonic troublemakers resurrecting the raw, unpolished electricity of early American nightlife. This isn’t museum jazz—this is the sound of back-rooms, basement bars, smoke-clouded corners, and after-hours mischief.
Led by Drew Nugent—cornet in one hand, mischief in the other—the Midnight Society plays with the fever and grit of a time when music wasn’t just entertainment, it was rebellion. Their sets swing, growl, laugh, and swagger with the wild, restless pulse of the 1910s–1930s underground scene.
Video of Drew taken at The Black Squirrel Club
Now slipping into residency at Velvet Whip, they bring a world where the lights are low, the rhythms stay hot, and the night has a mind of its own. It’s jazz for the nocturnal, the curious, the ones who chase feeling over perfection.
Step inside. Let the horns whisper, the banjo bite, and the past come roaring alive. Drew Nugent & The Midnight Society aren’t just performing—they’re conjuring a hidden era, one unforgettable night at a time.

GOLDI FOX PRESENTS LES CLASSIQUES: AN EROTIC BURLESQUE AFFAIR The Southern Style Edition celebrating Goldi Fox’s BDAY!
To all you lowbrow lovers & high-class cabaret connoisseurs this one’s for you!
Friday, April 17th, 2026
9:00 PM 11:00 PM
Y’all better polish your boots & loosen that collar…
Join Burlesque Queen Goldi Fox & her fierce flock of southern belles & femme fatales for Les Classiques: An Erotic Burlesque Affair — a birthday bash dipped in Southern heat & slow-dripped in rhinestones.
This ain’t just a show, sugar — it’s a honky-tonk tuchus-shakin’, fringe-swingin’, whiskey-sippin’ revival of the sacred art of the tease. We’re talkin’ slow burns, long looks, & hips that roll like a backroad after midnight. Every sparkle tells a story. Every shimmy snaps like a well-worn leather belt. Every glove peeled off is a promise kept deliciously late.
We’re honorin’ the mitzvah of the tease — where restraint is religion & anticipation is the sweetest sin.
So gather your gals, grab your cowboys n’ ‘gals, & bring that hot date if they’ve got the stamina for Southern decadence. Come ready to holler, whistle, & kvell — because this birthday celebration is dressed in lace, lit by neon, & steeped in the pure Deep South decadence that Goldi herself was raised in!
Don’t forget your cash, darlin’ — our performers run on applause & appreciation. And dress to impress. Think rhinestones, silk, bolo ties, red lips, sharp suits, high slits, & higher standards. This is the swankiest little peep show Philly’s ever blushed over & Goldi wants to see y’all in your tightest Levi’s & tits up so high, that it would give Dolly Parton a run for her money!
✨ Pre-Show Schmooze Hour kicks off at 8PM ✨
Slide in early to mingle n’ mosey. Shop performer treasures, sip specialty cocktails that’ll warm you from the inside out, & let the night wrap around you like a slow country love song. DJ Craig Dash will be spinning southern style anthems & backbeat seduction — smoother than your worst ex’s apology and twice as convincing.
It’s Southern. It’s Sultry. It’s Goldi’s birthday, baby. And we’re fixin’ to celebrate proper. 💋✨

The City Wide Sessions Returns! Hosted by Dan Kalowitz
Their last jam was held 3 years ago,
and now it’s back-
The last City Wide Sessions jam at Heritage Jazz in 2023 brought together a real mix of players—familiar faces, new voices, and the kind of easy collaboration that only happens when the room feels right.
